Cleaning & Care Guide

STORAGE & DELIVERY

  • Please store your WPC or Thermo Siding in shade and dry conditions, or direct sunlight and overheating may lead to deformation.

  • Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of the WPC panels to prevent deformation or damage.

  • If possible, elevate the stacked panels off the ground using pallets or wooden blocks to prevent direct contact with moisture or damp surfaces.

  • WPC or Thermo Siding should be transported by pallets, or else damages may occur.

INSTALLATION

  • Gather all necessary tools and materials, including WPC decking boards, joists, screws, measuring tape, saw, drill/driver, level, spacer clips, and safety equipment.

  • WPC may expand or contract when temperature changes, we recommend dto put boards in the working spot 40 hours before intallation so as to make it adapt to the weather.

  • When install, the best outside temperature is between 5~25 degrees.

  • Ensure the installation surface is clean, level, and free from debris. If you're installing over an existing deck, inspect it for structural integrity and repair any damaged areas.

CLEANING STAINS

  • Cleaning WPC (Wood-Plastic Composite) stains is relatively simple and can be done using basic cleaning supplies. You can use mild detergent or soap, water, soft-bristled brush or sponge, bucket, and clean cloth or tower as clean supplies.

  • Mix a small amount of mild detergent or soap with water in a bucket. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the WPC surface.

  • Gently scrub the stained area of the WPC surface with the brush or sponge. Apply light pressure to avoid scratching or damaging the surface.

  • Allow the cleaning solution to sit on the stained area for a few minutes to help loosen the stain.

  • After scrubbing, rinse the WPC surface thoroughly with clean water to remove the cleaning solution and loosened dirt or stains. Use a hose or bucket of water for rinsing.

  • Use a clean cloth or towel to dry the WPC surface thoroughly. Ensure that no moisture remains on the surface to prevent water stains or streaks.

  • For stubborn stains, you may need to repeat the cleaning process several times until the stain is completely removed. Be patient and persistent, and avoid using abrasive tools or cleaners that could damage the WPC surface.

  • To prevent future stains and maintain the appearance of your WPC surface, consider implementing regular cleaning and maintenance routines. Sweep or rinse the surface regularly to remove dirt, debris, and organic matter that can cause stains over time.

  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners on WPC surfaces, as they can damage the material and cause discoloration or fading.

COLOR FADING

  • Color fading is a common concern with WPC (Wood-Plastic Composite) materials, including WPC decking and siding, especially when exposed to prolonged sunlight and weathering.

  • Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight can cause color fading in WPC materials over time. UV rays can degrade the surface finish and pigments, leading to a loss of color intensity.

  • The quality of pigments and additives used in manufacturing WPC products can significantly impact their resistance to color fading. AGM uses higher-quality pigments and UV inhibitors which provide better protection against UV-induced fading.

  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the WPC surface and compromise its color retention properties.

COLOR DIFFERENCE

  • WPC is made from a blend of natural fibers (such as wood flour) and plastic polymers. Variations in the composition and characteristics of these raw materials can lead to differences in color between batches or even within the same batch of WPC products.

  • Exposure to sunlight, moisture, and other environmental factors can cause color fading, discoloration, or uneven weathering of WPC materials over time.

  • Purchase all WPC materials needed for your project from the same batch to ensure uniformity in color and appearance. Mixing materials from different batches can result in noticeable color differences.

  • Thoroughly inspect all WPC materials before installation to identify any color discrepancies or defects. Set aside any pieces that exhibit significant color differences or defects and contact the manufacturer if necessary.

  • Follow manufacturer guidelines for proper installation techniques, including spacing, fastening, and ventilation requirements. Improper installation can lead to uneven coloration and premature wear.

  • Implement a regular cleaning and maintenance routine to keep the WPC surface clean and free from dirt, debris, and organic matter that can affect color consistency. Use mild cleaners and avoid harsh chemicals that may cause discoloration.

  • Install shading structures or use protective coatings to minimize exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause color fading and uneven weathering. Additionally, ensure proper drainage to prevent water accumulation, which can lead to discoloration and mold growth.

  • Periodically inspect the WPC surface for signs of color fading, discoloration, or wear. Address any issues promptly to prevent them from worsening and affecting the overall appearance of the WPC materials.
